A new approach for real‐time digital feedback control of PWM inverter is proposed, in which an instantaneous value control with filter capacitor current compensation is achieved. In this scheme, the sampling frequency of the inverter becomes half of the carrier frequency, and it is suitable to implement for higher carrier frequency. In this paper, the output characteristics of the inverter for various LC filter components are evaluated. From the viewpoint of UPS applications, the advantages and disadvantages are discussed through simulations and experiments, and the superiority of the proposed control law is verified. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
