A focusing‐free and multispectral three‐dimensional endoscope based on a compact compound‐eye camera is proposed. A prototype TOMBO endoscope with 3 ×2 aspherical lenses using a wavefront coding technique and a 640 ×480‐pixel color imager demonstrates extended depth of field and registration of multispectral images based on an estimated depth map. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
