An excellent cavity ring‐down spectroanalyzer was realized using a reective semiconductor optical amplier. A negative feedback optical amplication eect in the amplier recovers signal loss to a higher degree and provides an output signal whose baseline is reduced optically. A sample cell was formed to meet bers in the face. 0.5% to 16% saccharose solutions were analyzed by the spectroanalyzer using a 1512‐nm laser. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
