This paper is concerned with robust filters with H ∞ disturbance attenuation for a class of uncertain linear systems with time‐varying delays. We develop a sufficient condition that guarantees the H ∞ disturbance attenuation for an error dynamics of an uncertain time‐delay system and its filter. Based on such a sufficient condition, we give a design method of robust filters with H ∞ disturbance attenuation for uncertain time‐delay systems. Finally, numerical examples show the effectiveness of our methods. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
