Method and Results This paper reports on an anorexic adolescent female with a history of attentional problems and on the favorable effects on eating‐disordered behavior of a pharmacotherapeutic intervention for attentional deficits. Discussion The role of cognitive and attentional deficits in the initiation and maintenance of eating disorders (ED) is discussed and guidelines for the use of stimulant medication with anorexic patients are presented. © 2001 by John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
