The possibility of the detection of olodaterol and vilanterol, two novel β 2 ‐agonists, in human urine for the purpose of sport drug testing was investigated. Compounds of interest were analyzed by liquid chromatography‐tandem mass spectrometry (LC‐MS/MS) employing methods commonly used in the World Anti‐Doping Agency (WADA) accredited laboratories. For both substances, the respective parent compound was found to be a suitable target analyte for monitoring therapeutic dose administration. Copyright © 2015 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
