During one of my recent internet searches for news on the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, I was surprised to find that the authors of a scholarly article had listed FERPA as one of the factors that negatively impact the success of students with disabilities in higher education. The article erroneously stated that FERPA does not allow the staff of a postsecondary institution's Disability Services Office to disclose the students’ accommodations information to faculty.
