Few colleges have a tactile three‐dimensional map to assist sight‐impaired students in navigating a challenging campus layout. The functional map unveiled last May at Portland State University is noteworthy for its scale and detail, and has become a valued resource throughout the university community. Michael Cantino, an accessibility specialist at nearby Portland Community College, described the effort's objectives and the role student feedback played in shaping the design.
