Youth in America are experiencing more mental health problems and a greater prevalence of major depressive issues, according to a nationwide annual report put together by Mental Health America. According to the report, major depressive episodes increased by more than 4% between 2012 and 2017, which means that more than 2 million youths and adolescents suffer from depression. And the highest rates of suicidal ideation were found in young adults aged 18–25.
