People with autism spectrum disorder, particularly students and adolescents, are not receiving the assistance to which they are entitled from a government program designed to help individuals with disabilities land jobs. That finding comes from a study published in the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders , which also found that access to vocational rehabilitation resources for individuals with disabilities, and in particular individuals with autism spectrum disorder, varied widely by state. The vocational rehabilitation program, funded by both state and federal funds, offers resources to help individuals with disabilities find a job and support for those in the workforce already.
