According to a report published by the Ruderman Family Foundation, almost half of people killed by police have some form of disability. In a webinar hosted by the Bureau of Justice Assistance and the Vera Institute of Justice, panelists discussed ways law enforcement agencies can partner with others to build resources for preventing crises involving individuals with disabilities and de‐escalating potentially fraught scenarios safely.
