When I was asked to start an advisory board for our office, I immediately put the project on the bottom of my “to do” list. I am not a procrastinator unless I find myself trying to do something that I don't know how to do, and I had no idea how to create an advisory board. I didn't know who to invite to be on the board, and I didn't know what to do with a board once I created it. As I reached out for advice, I was told to contact the dean of each college to ask for a recommendation for a faculty member from their college.
