Incubation of plasma samples rat, rabbit, guinea pig, and rhesus monkey showed a nonsaturable low affinity binding with 14 C‐centchroman. The Scatchard analysis of binding data revealed a low affinity and high capacity binding of centchroman with plasma protein. It was observed that 14 C‐centchroman did not compete with 3 H‐cortisol, 3 H‐estradiol, non‐steroidal estrogenic/antiestrogenic agents, or with the binding sites of other steroidal sex hormones used with plasma samples of different animals. The characterization of centchroman bound complex with polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis showed that centchroman binds with plasma albumin at af of 0.68.
