We describe a case of an 82‐yr‐old woman presenting with a thyroid nodule and axillary mass thought to be a metastasis. Fine‐needle aspiration (FNA) revealed the axillary nodule to be a chondroid syringoma. We report here the cytologic features of chondroid syringoma and recommend the use of FNA in the evaluation of cutaneous and subcutaneous lesions in general. © 1994 Wiley‐Liss, Inc.
