A 45‐yr‐old woman being treated for carcinoma of the uterine cervix was found to have a right nipple nodule. Fine‐needle aspiration of the nodule showed a very cellular smear with clusters of ductal cells and many scattered naked nuclei. Papillary clusters with and without a vascular core also were present and enabled a cytological diagnosis of papillary adenoma. Excision of the lesion demonstrated the histopathologic features of a papillary adenoma of the nipple.
