In 2020, Michael Crowder, Ph.D., was hired from his role as Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry and Department Chair to Associate Provost and Dean of the Graduate School at Miami University in Ohio. “I think both the Chair and the Dean positions are called leadership positions, but you find out very clearly you're here to serve the faculty, staff, and students. It's something you don't understand until you get into the position,” Crowder said.
