Adult learners attending community colleges are overwhelmingly likely to report having a positive experience at their institution — but they also face multiple barriers to success, including those directly related to the college experience. That finding comes from a first‐of‐its‐kind survey conducted by the consulting firm Percontor, which reached out to more than 50,000 adult students at 10 community colleges during fall 2017 and fall 2018 regarding the challenges they face in earning a degree, and ways those challenges might be mitigated.
