The paper presents the results of a series of 6 shear tests on full scale highly thermal insulating clay unit masonry walls. The walls consisted of units with large voids filled with mineral wool with a thermal conductivity of λ = 0,07 W/(m · K). The aim of the investigations was the verification of the in‐plane‐shear resistance of this type of thermal insulating clay unit masonry in addition to the tests reported in [1]. The current design rules for clay unit masonry in DIN EN 1996‐1‐1/NA are rather conservative compared to the test results for thermal insulating units.
