Abstract Recommendations are made for hardware and software capabilities that will permit a level of performance of comparative genomic hybridization (CGH) analysis on metaphase chromosomes that is comparable to the best current practice. Guidelines for interpreting the results of CGH analysis in terms of chromosomal gains or losses are also presented. © 1995 Wiley‐Liss, Inc.
