A global model for impurity production and transport in a limiter tokamak plasma has been developed by coupling an iterative simplified model of the scrape‐off layer with a main plasma impurity transport code. The predictions of the global model are compared with experimental results from the Frascati Tokamak Upgrade with poloidal inconel limiter.
