We analyze the static and dynamic properties of strongly correlated multi‐layer structures. The two extreme configurations, the double‐layer and the infinite superlattice, are studied within a classical model. Static and dynamic instabilities are identified at high enough Γ values and at low enough layer spacings. Interlayer correlations cause the acoustic mode to develop a k = 0 energy gap.
