Strongly coupled fine particle clouds in fine particle (dusty) plasmas

Based on drift‐diffusion equations, we show a large enhancement of the charge neutrality in fine particle clouds analytically and confirm it by numerical solutions, in both cases of microgravity and gravity. This observation enables us to construct simple models of fine particle clouds in both cases. Combined with the analysis of the Helmholtz free energy of inhomogeneous systems, our results give a formulation to obtain microscopic structures of fine particles in fine particle clouds.
