The interplay of X‐point shearing and axial plasma redistribution along a moving flux tube is discussed. Blobs limited to the main scrape‐off‐layer and blobs entirely confined in the divertor region are identified. A strong effect of the radial tilt of the divertor plate on “divertor” blobs is found.
