Using nonequilibrium Green's functions techniques, transport properties of dense plasmas under the influence of laser radiation are investigated. The approach goes beyond the linear response theory, i.e., it can be applied to strong fields assuming the nonrelativistic case. Quantum statistical expressions for the energy absorption rate are derived including nonlinear field phenomena as well as quantum and correlation effects. The influence of these effects on collisional absorption in high frequency fields is discussed. Furthermore, we compare with molecular dynamic simulations which were performed using quantum potentials. (© 2003 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
