The effect of a turbulent background of density, electrostatic, and magnetic fluctuations on the growth of tearing modes is considered assuming three‐wave interaction. It is found that, depending on the background conditions, the turbulence can cause anomalous electron resistivity or viscosity, leading to enhanced growth rate.
