From the balance equations for partial quantities we derive equations for lumped quantities, e.g. a generalized Ohm's law. They are especially useful for a three‐component system (electrons, one species of ions and neutral particles). Certain conditions are derived and investigated to describe a plasma with more than three components by the lumped quantities.
