The paper deals with the bounds on the sensitivities of the poles and the quality factor to the gain of the amplifier in biquadratic second‐order active filters. to ensure stability, the Fialkow‐Gerst conditions are taken into account. It is not possible to realize biquad filters with a better gain‐sensitivity product not obeying the derived conditions. the result can be applied in filter synthesis and will give the designer more freedom to dimension the filter structure and its component values.
