In generalized linear networks the application of Kirchhoff's laws for through and across analogous quantitites, which do not possess the basic properties presumed by these laws, may lead to confusion. Using the proper extensive parameters and axioms of the irreversible thermodynamics however the muddle may be overcome. A third equation for entropy‐flux, having no resembalance with the first two, is also presented.
