Summary A high step‐up DC‐DC converter using the voltage‐lift and coupled inductor techniques is presented in this paper. Only a single switch is utilized for this converter. The voltage‐lift and coupled inductor techniques are integrated to achieve high voltage gain for the proposed converter. The leakage energy of the coupled inductor is recycled for improving the conversion efficiency. In addition, the operating principles and steady‐state analyses are illustrated for continuous conduction mode. The boundary condition is analyzed in detail. To demonstrate the performance for the proposed converter, a prototype circuit is built in the laboratory.
