The Cover Feature shows the current focus on the strategies requisite for biorecycling of polyethylene terephthalate (PET). The first strategy is improvement of PET hydrolase, which should be thermostable at over 70 °C and of high conversion rate to produce terephthalic acid by a single enzyme. Another strategy is conversion of waste PET to more degradable forms in an economical way. More information can be found in the Minireview by F. Kawai.
