The Cover Feature shows the direct hydrocracking of lignin into naphthenes over rhenium oxide‐modified iridium catalyst. A synergistic effect between Ir and ReO x in Ir‐ReO x /SiO 2 gives this one‐pot transformation high performance, in which ReO x is mainly responsible for the cleavage of C−O linkages, whereas Ir is in charge of deoxygenation and saturation of the aromatic units. This methodology provides a potential route for the direct conversion of lignin into renewable fuel additives and facilitates the catalyst design.
