The crystal structure of parthenin has been determined by X‐ray structure analysis. The compound crystallizes in the tetragonal space group P4 1 with cell parameters a = b = 6.8677(2), c = 28.6851(4) Å. The structure has been solved by direct methods and refined to R = 0.039. The seven‐membered ring assumes a chair conformation while the two five‐membered rings have envelope shapes. The A/B and B/C junctions are trans. Molecules are held together by hydrogen bonds.
