Phase diagram studies have revealed that benzamide forms a simple eutectic with β‐naphthol. Linear velocity of crystallization and heat of fusion measurements have shown that the eutectic does not follow the mixture law. Microstructural studies have shown that the microstructure of the mixtures depend on the composition, the degree of undercooling and the nature of impurities.
