This paper presents the absorption spectra, excited spectra and fluorescence spectra of Nd: YAP, Ce: YAP and Nd, Ce: YAP. It is believed that there is an energy transfer from Ce 3+ to Nd 3+ and it is possible to improve the laser efficiency of Nd: YAP sensitized by Ce 3+ .
