Various Types of convection have been studied in a molten AIZn Eutectic. Experiments have been conducted using a Bridgman‐Stockbarger arrangement with a furnace slid onto the specimen and moving along the specimen axis. The apparatus rotated around the horizontal axis, which made it possible to carry out measurements at different angles α contained by the gravity and temperature gradient vectors in the specimen. The amplitudes and for periodic convection also the frequencies of the temperature fluctuations have been determined.
