Lithium Niobate (LiNbO 3 ) single crystal fiber with 0.5 mm in diameter and 160–170mm long have been grown by an edge‐defined, film‐fed growth (EFG) technique. The morphology and microcracks of the fiber are studied. The mechanism of forming a single domain structure in the as‐grown LiNbO 3 crystal fiber is discussed on the basis of the thermoelectric field model.
