Abstract Influence of the cluster form on the nucleation rate and the transient time is studied. Relatively small increase of a geometric form factor γ (γ ∼ A n / V 2/3 n , where A n denotes the surface area and V n the volume of the nucleus of n molecules) provokes the massive decrease of the nucleation rate and small increase of the transient time.
