Using the coefficient of volume expansion certain thermoacoustic parameters like isobaric ( K ), isothermal ( K ″), isochoric ( K ″) acoustic parameters, free volume ( V a / V ) and two new dimensionless acoustic parameters A * and B * are estimated in certain alkoxy benzylidene butylanilines, in their isotropic‐ and mesophases as well as at and in the immediate vicinity of the phase transition temperatures following the method which was suggested by Sharma, for non‐mesomorphic systems.
