Comparative SEM investigations have been carried out on small ice crystals by means of vapour and modified replica methods. Different replica solutions based on 3 polymers (formvar, plexiglass, polystyrene) and 3 organic solvents (methylene chloride, chloroform, ethylene dichloride) have been used. The conditions for accurate replication have been considered.
