Annealing in air produces less photocurrent and a small I PC / I DC ratio compared to those of unannealed CdS:Yb crystals. Annealing in sulfur makes the crystals very conducting without any increase due to photoexcitation. Annealing in presence of Cd metal makes the photo‐response quite fast. Results of photoconductivity excitation spectra are also presented and discussed.
