Investigations on specific volume and ultrasonic velocity measurements (at four different fixed frequencies) as a function of temperature are carried out in the liquid crystal p‐cyanophenyl trans‐4‐pentylcyclohexane carboxylate. From these studies various physical parameters like adiabatic compressibility, molar sound velocity, molar compressibility, van der Waals constant and intermolecular free lengths are evaluated. The variation of the order parameter with temperature at the four different fixed frequencies is also studied and the results are discussed.
