The specific volume and ultrasonic velocity measurements (at four different fixed frequencies) are carried out in the liquid crystal p‐cyanophenyl trans‐4‐propylcyclohexane carboxylate. From these studies various physical parameters like adiabatic compressibility, molar sound velocity, molar compressibility, Van der Waals' constant and intermolecular free lengths are derived. The variation of the order parameter with temperature at the four fixed frequencies is also studied. The results are discussed.
