A pneumatically‐mixed foam column is described for the precipitation of potash alum from aqueous solution using 2‐propanol as the water‐miscible salting‐out agent. Controlled precipitation is achieved by first evaporating the alcohol into the foam‐producing air stream. Guidelines are given for some optimum modes of operation.
