The experiments and techniques used in the study of the crystallization characteristics of pentaerythritol (PE) from a certain lubricating oil dispersant additive are presented. These experiments were performed with a view to improving the filtrability of the dispersant product and also to reduce the potential for sediment formation in the dispersant product during storage. Successfully tested methods for the elimination of this sediment formation at storage are also presented.
