An investigation of the axial temperature distribution in the solution zone at THM growth of CdTe is presented. The results support the assumption, that density differences coused by concentration differences there are a substantial contribution to convection in the zone. The concentration Rayleigh‐number and the needed concentration expansion coefficient of the real experimental condition are estimated.
