Morphology and surface features of two varieties of hydrothermally grown zeolite microcrystals viz: VSZ‐3 and VSZ‐4 are studied by employing SEM. VSZ‐3 crystals have prismatic and prismatic pyramidal habits, whereas VSZ‐4 crystals are only prismatic with hexagonal cross‐section. In light of the scanning electron microscopic studies the plausible mode of nucleation and growth of these zeolite crystals are proposed.
