The plastic deformation of CaO crystals produces the increase of luminescence band centered at 385 nm and 454 nm. The bands are excited with light of 350 nm and 275 nm respectively, and their relative increase depends on the kind of deformation applied to the crystal. The results are compared with previous cathodoluminescence observations.
