Abstract The behaviour of dislocations in quartz crystals changing their direction while passing from one growth sector into another where studied with X‐ray topography. The investigations were performed on crystals which had been grown in c direction from seeds cut from different growth sectors. The dislocations are newly arranged according to K LAPPER 's theory, when they enter a growth sector with a different direction.
