An empirical power law type model, used for modelling crystal growth rate of barium chromate, when precipitation was carried out from homogeneous solution, has been applied to the re‐analysis of experimental data, based on which an unusual inverse size dependence on growth rate had been claimed previously. It is shown that the current empirical model provides a more realistic explanation of the data. The weaknesses of the previous approach are discussed in comparison with this new model.
