From the energy dependance of the k ‐ratio measured for the SbL α and BiL α ‐lines in the alloy system Bi 1– x Sb x the k ‐ratio at the critical energy E c is determined by extrapolation. The stopping power correction is discussed for the system investigated here on the basis of the known composition of the specimens. The mean ionization potentials J for Sb and Bi are estimated from the experiments.
